Green Friday is the new Black Friday.


The initiative champions brands to pulls out from offering aggressive discounts and make money while offsetting carbon emissions, planting trees and making donations.


The Canadian outdoor manufacturer Arc'teryx opts for second hand and announced to go green for Black Friday: customers can return their used Arc'teryx products and receive vouchers worth 30% of the original retail price.


Kotn, a Toronto-based brand that prides themselves on their commitment to ethically sourced Egyptian cotton, is doing things differently this Black Friday. From Nov. 27 to Nov. 30, 100% of proceeds up to $120,000 will be donated directly to fund the creation of three schools in Egypt in support of worldwide literacy.
